ATL Plus Magazine had the incredible opportunity to be part of the media coverage for the Alpha Derby, hosted by Alphas of Atlanta. This highly anticipated event brought together Alphas from across the metro-Atlanta area for a weekend filled with four unforgettable experiences. The Alpha Derby Weekend showcased the perfect Atlanta alternative to enjoy the Kentucky Derby, all while supporting local non-profit education foundations.

The festivities kicked off on Friday with the Alphas of Atlanta Open Golf Tournament held at the Wolf Creek Golf Course. Attendees enjoyed a day of golfing, complete with amenities that were second to none. The tournament featured an 18-hole full round, as well as various contests such as putting, closest to the pin, longest drive, and hole-in-one. The day concluded with a delightful "19th Hole" lunch and awards presentation.

Friday night brought the Kick-Off Social and Concert at the iconic College Football Hall of Fame. With an impressive attendance of 1100, this event truly set the tone for the weekend. Guests had the opportunity to socialize, enjoy live performances from legendary artists, and dance the night away. Past performers have included Big Daddy Kane, Slick Rick, Chubb Rock, Doug E. Fresh, and more. This year's performance promised to be a record-breaking experience.

Saturday marked the highlight of the weekend with the Alpha Derby Day Party, also held at the College Football Hall of Fame. With a massive attendance of 1600, this signature fundraiser brought together a vibrant atmosphere and unforgettable entertainment. Guests enjoyed live music, multiple DJs, a variety of food vendors, a silent auction, a best hat competition, and a live broadcast of the Kentucky Derby. This immersive experience left nothing to chance, ensuring an extraordinary time for all attendees.

To conclude the weekend, Sunday featured the Jazz Brunch at The Omni Hotel. This elegant affair offered guests a delightful plated meal-style breakfast buffet, complete with carving stations, desserts, and attentive service. A nationally known full band provided live jazz music, creating a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. The DJ ensured that the weekend ended on a high note, leaving everyone with unforgettable memories.

Throughout the entire Alpha Derby Weekend, the focus remained on giving back to the community.
