Sen. Raphael Warnock to Receive 2021 NNPA National Leadership Award

Georgia continues to remain instrumental in the nation’s swinging political spectrum. Recently, Jon Ossof and Rev. Raphael Warnock were elected to the United States Senate. This news has swung the majority of the Senate to the Democrats.

Sen. Warnock has also received the 2021 National Newspaper Publishers Association (NNPA) 2021 National Leadership Award. This award recognizes individuals who have positively influenced the nation. Sen. Warnock has spent most of his life serving the community and advocating for social justices through his leadership and platform.

He is also a member of the Senate Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry committee. He has worked on various other boards such as the Senate Commerce and the Senate Aging Committee. He was the youngest pastor for the Ebenezer Baptist Church and has since expanded his role within the tight knit community to spread a message of equality and justice to a national level.

The NNPA has promoted justices through Black communities and voices for almost 200 years. The awards ceremony this year will be held virtually on September 16th if you want to tune in with an interview with actress Gabrielle Union prior to the awards ceremony.
