New Poll Shows Two Frontrunners in the Atlanta Mayor’s Race, Felicia Moore Leading

The Atlanta showdown continues to narrow down to the wire as two mayoral candidates are pulling away from the others. The two leading candidates include Felicia Moore and former Mayor Kasim Reed. With less than two months before official voting is underway, Moore is starting to show promise as the head runner in this election.

Early voting numbers recognize Moore with 24% of the votes and runner-up Kasim Reed with 19 percent. Moore currently works as the President of the City Council and sports the highest rating on the feelings thermometer – ranking at a 62.0 out of 100. This is a significant difference between Moore and Reed, who rates on 44.4 on the scale despite his prior Mayoral position.

Moore also has a 75% name ID from voters and is considered the likely candidate to pull away with a victory at this point unless something drastic changes. The other mayoral candidates outside of the two leaders, rank in the single digits and are unlikely to generate enough voters to make it a contest between Reed and Moore.

Voting registration opens on November 2nd with early registration on October 12th. One thing is for certain – this mayoral election will go down in Atlanta’s political history.
