In 1991, fourteen distinguished Dekalb businessmen chartered the 100 Black Men of Dekalb County, Inc. organization, and in January 22,2023, at the Mercedes Benz of Buckhead showroom, Gregory B. Levett Jr was sworn in as the 17th president of this elite organization. Political and community leaders, faith-based organizations, and a host of community partners agreed that Mr. Levett was more than qualified to lead the charge of continuing the rich legacy and work of the 100 Black Men of Dekalb. Following in the footsteps of his father, Gregory B. Levett Sr., who was also a founding charter member and past president, Gregory is excited to continue the legacy and the heritage that this organization is known for.
The mission of the 100 Black Men of Dekalb is focused on five pillars: mentoring, Education, Health and Wellness, Economic Empowerment, and Leadership. Though the organization’s goal is to uplift the community through partnerships, collaborations, and a continual commitment to excellence for the African American youth in the Atlanta area, it also shines as a beacon of light to the next generation of black leaders, businessmen, and entrepreneurs.
As the incoming president of 100BMOD, Gregory Levett, Jr. brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise in business and community engagement. He is not just an heir to the prestigious Levett Funeral Home franchise but a powerhouse in his own right. Mr. Levett obtained his architectural degree from Tuskegee University and is the founder and CEO of B. Levett & Company, a top-notch real estate development and construction firm that services metro Atlanta. He has over 20 years of experience in the construction industry. He is also a man with a true servant’s heart. Mr. Levett is an active community member and invests his time in worthy causes such as mentoring programs, economic development, and business entrepreneurship. With his lovely wife Tenesha by his side, Mr. Levett, with his quiet confidence, is poised to take the 100BMOD to new heights as the newly installed president of one of the greatest organizations in Dekalb County.
