Atlanta’s famous Dragon Con is set to take over Labor Day Weekend from September 2nd through September 6th. What is Dragon Con? If you haven’t attended this local event in the past 35 years, you’re in for a surprise! Filled with everything pop-culture, you’ll be whisked away by famous celebrities and rule-defying conventions that emphasize fantasy, science fiction, and more. The convention started out as a local venue but has since grown into one of the largest pop culture conventions in the nation.
There is even more hype over Dragon Con this year as it was canceled in 2020 due to the COVID pandemic. However, some restrictions will still be in place including a reduced capacity and a canceled parade. If you’re a lucky one of the 50,000 that will be attending – don’t forget your COVID vaccine card or a negative COVID test as this is mandatory to enter the convention.
While the event will still hold its usual workshops, contests, and events – a new station will also be available. This year, under extenuating circumstances, the convention will offer an on-site COVID testing center and vaccines. Although Dragon Con is slicing its numbers almost in half to curb the spread of the pandemic, attendees are sure to have an amazing, fun-filled time celebrating pop culture.
