The Delta variant is running rampant through America, and the rest of the world, putting hospitals at risk of full-capacity ICUs and increasing pressure for people to get vaccinated. Atlanta’s NFL alumni, and current players, are doing their part to help people become better informed about the COVID-19 vaccine. In fact, they are teaming up with the Community Organized Relief Effort to host an event with games, autographs, and a free COVID-19 vaccines.

Currently, the NFL alumni association as recruited more than 50 current and retired players to bring awareness towards the COVID vaccine. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the local Fulton County Health Department are promoting a mobile vaccine clinic that gives users quick and easy access to doing their part in getting vaccinated.

What is the goal? Only 50% of Georgia’s population that is vaccine-eligible have opted for it while cases continue to rise in the state. By bringing awareness through athletes who have been in the spotlight, healthcare workers and the CDC are hoping that people will reach out to professionals who can answer their questions and concerns regarding the vaccine. The NFL alumni and other organizations have just one goal in mind - educating people on the importance of community and individual health is the main focus of these free campaigns.
